Environmental
Louth Lions started a project some years ago to tidy and maintain a small section of the river Lud running through to town along Charles Street. This project initially cleared the banks of the river, trimming back overgrown trees and shrubs. Eventually, the Lions created a paved area with seating for the public to rest and enjoy the tranquility of the area.
Further development around the area has seen bulbs and flowers planted, as well as bird boxes fixed in the trees. The Louth Lions environmental project team continues to develop with work recently undertaken at Spout Yard, a program of litter-picking & of course our own cart displaying plants on the entrance to the town.
